We can see God's hand at work in the relationships we have already made with Japanese people. Every MSGF team member has made at least one significant Japanese contact. Many of the team members have established multiple contacts. A few of our contacts have heard the gospel and studied the Bible with Mustard Seed staff persons. It seems that God prepared Japanese hearts and arranged divine meetings before we even arrived in Japan.
Interestingly, the amount of relationships we've developed and the ease to which they have come stands in contrast with the research we had gathered about the Japanese culture. We heard that they were private, unwilling to discuss religion, and hesitant to make relationships with foreigners. However, we have experienced the opposite. Undoubtedly, God's hand is at work in Japan among this people whom he deeply loves. For now, Mustard Seed continues to study the language and reach out to those whom God puts in our path. We greatly anticipate and pray for our first Japanese convert.
